Ordinary to extraordinary!

A introvert, tanned, not so good looking, small town girl (No no no... absolutely not Bipasha Basu from "Bachna ae haseeno", rather a real one)!!

School life had never been exciting other than passing love letters between couple. Yes... you read it correct!! I did it all throughout my school life. I never cared about how I looked, how should I carry myself so that I look attractive. Actually, these things never mattered to me. Love, relationship, boyfriend was never my cup of tea. Or I better admit... I was way to dumb for these things.

"Boroline"... the only cream I always used thinking it looks fine as dad uses it every evening and he looks so handsome. Alas! my father never told me not to use half a tube at once, which always made me look more of a "chumpoo"...
As obvious I was never been liked as a girl of choice for any boy in my school or outside... But, I never felt bad either, why am I even thinking about it today? Well!! Its TEENAGE darling... The best time to experience those butterflies in stomach and having a shy feeling thinking about someone.

I wanted to relate to these feeling when my best friends talked about them. But, looking at mirror I always went sad because I never looked as beautiful as my friends used to. Is this my fault? No... I am born ugly, what to do...

And the story continues.....

There come a day when I was caught red handed by my papa, passing letter to one of friend's boyfriend. He thought he was my BF. He started to question us and then his parents were called too...

Noooooooooo!! this is not fare... I felt so humiliated when that guy's father said that it is not possible for his son to like such a bad looking dumb girl... I went home in a shock state, my papa was happy to learn that his daughter is a good girl (Huh!!),

But, that was my "Eureka" day! I went on thinking am I so ugly that I can't even be considered to be liked by someone's parents... Oh god! I have to do something for myself... But, WAIT!! What should I do? Coming from a family where wearing a simple lip gloss is considered a huge fashion following, who would tell me how should I change??

I made a choice that I should look beautiful and with one of my friend's help, I came to know that my skin is not dark but tanned. I started using umbrella and stopped using "my love boroline" at day time. I started going for a long walk and short jog. and started taking good care of myself. Days went by and I finished school and stepped into another phase of my life...

YES.... "Collage Life"...

Wow!! Its a fresher's day at college...

And.....

Miss Freshers goes to "MEEEEE"... Yayyyyyyyyy... Nailed it :) :)

Survival of the fittest!

Don't worry, I am not going teach you Darwin's law of evolution!!

Well!! To start with, I belong from a defence back ground, where my father and uncles worked in Indian Army. Needless to say, we were forced to travel every 2 to 3 years to be with my darling daddy.

When most of us say friends from childhood days are just assets, I'm like which one? The one from Bareily? or Merut? oh no nono, i think the Kharagpur one? and the confusion goes on and on. Due to change in dad's base location every few years, we were forced to change school and this brought in a lot of new faces to deal with, be it teachers (to build a rapport) or be it friends (to survive day-to-day life situations). I'm sure you are getting me...

All these taught me a great lesson to adjust with anyone at any point of time. This made me learn to appreciate the culture and livelihood of people around us. I have learnt a great lesson which taught me to respect people for what they are and not from where they belong.

When it comes to learning... and you are among strangers, you try to be friend with them by showing them that you know many things about their culture and society to be well accepted. This helped me learn a lot of traditions and cuisines around the world and today I have a lot of traditional tricks along with a great food diary in my kitty :)

I was blessed to meet so many people from different parts of the country living in a same locality. We celebrated all the festivals with each other. I was never taught that Pongal is only for South Indians and Holi is only for North Indians. I was taught to fit in the society of mixed culture wherever we traveled with papa.

I know, all these sounds awesome and flowery, but as written in my destiny... I met the MAN of my dreams... Wait let me finish....

From HARIYANA... See!! I told you "Survival of the fittest" God laughed at me as well!!

You wanted kick... here it is darling, all for you :D

Well!! Needless to mention I am blessed with the most loving, caring, and a man with such an amazing outlook about people and life. While I was determined to shift my story from "survival of the fittest" to "survival at its best" ... I got married!!

It's just the beginning, the beast is yet to come!!

Oh!! sorry... Did I say beast?? No no... Best is yet to come :) :)

Daydreaming! Silly yet important

A introvert not so good looking girl, who always dreamed big in her corner of the family bed with eyes open in the dark night when she was not being noticed or judged by anyone around.
She knew, one day all her dreams will be a reality and those dreams gave her lift everyday to fight against the odds in life. One of those were "speaking English fluently"
Born in a family where English speaking was a luxury and studying in a school where most of the students were English freak. Well! there was a day-to-day challenge for her to face the teachers and face the classroom when it was her turn to read the paragraph. After small murmurs and crooked smile of her peers, she spends the rest of her day in her dream to learn to speak English. But non of her parents could answer her query on "how do I learn to speak English if no one is there to speak with me".
It was a regular fight with her identity and she always dreamed about conquering the battle. One day she was asked by her teacher to narrate a story which he had written. But, she was scared as her English may spoil the beauty of the story. But, she was asked by him to memorize the story and narrate it to the audience of her imagination.
She followed as instructed and on the day of her storytelling event she succeeded to narrate it without much problem. To her surprise, she noticed that she had also added a few sentences of her own which happened naturally while she was delivering her speech to the real audience.
WOW! If I can do this, I can also learn to speak it fluently. What I have to do is just practice speaking in my imagination.

Then started her everyday struggle with day dreaming... Her parents thought she is just no more interested in studies and always want to sleep. Her friends thought she has gone very arrogant just by giving one speech on stage. But, she knew what she was after and each day she chose a topic to speak to her imaginary audience/friend. The days were so tough that it took hours to figure out the correct sentence. She delivered speech after speech with messed up grammar and useless sentences. But, she continued doing it and started listening to discovery channel. Got bashed up hard by her father thinking she is wasting her time but she continued to follow her way towards her goal.
It was a tough journey, where she watched discovery for hours together and could not understand a bit of the sentences properly. But, then one day something amazing happened. Her father's uncle called up from Delhi and he wanted to speak in English with her as her dad told him with pride that now-a-days she watch only English discovery channel.
Oh! NOOOO.... Me?? NO no no... I was not confident to speak to a real person who would point out my error and I will be ashamed in front of my parents. But, she had no choice than taking the challenge... To her surprise, she could speak to him in English and she was able to form sentence and her accent was good too.
=============================================
She wasn't sure then but today she found out the answer which was her training of the subconscious mind.
=============================================
Now, she gained her confidence, she could see that yes she did it and there started her journey to be the best English speaker in school. With all her everyday-dedication and her super supportive imaginary audience, she was able to speak grammatically correct English fluently... And yes!! with accent!! Remember discovery speakers?? There it came from.... Hahahaha!

Kiss of Love... A breathtaking moment!

Propose!! What a lovely word for all the teenagers, isn't it?
This is the day you will never forget in your whole life.

Those butterflies in stomach, that comfortably numb feeling, those quite moments of experiencing your breath... And the great feeling of being "So Special" for someone!!

Whenever we walk through our memory lane, everyone of us have this day, which is powerful enough to bring smile even in the darkest moments of life.
Today, I decided to pen down and re-live those moments of pure bliss!

It was the evening of 21st Jan, 2009, when he invited me to attend a small party with his few friends to celebrate his promotion on 22nd Jan, 2009. I was glad and was requested to wear a skirt as I look gorgeous in it (according to him).
==========================================
Me: Hello... Yes, baby tell me...
Him: Are you ready?
Me: Yes, I will be in 15 minutes and drop by 11:30 am
Him: OK
Me: Have all your friends arrived? I suppose I am not late?
Him: They are on their way.
==========================================
You look beautiful in skirt. Let's go home.... Yeah! sure.... To my surprise none of his friends arrived yet. I was relieved that I am not the late one, there are people worst than me.
==========================================
Me: When are they coming? how long would it take?
Him: Please have a sit in the drawing room, I will come in few minutes.
Me: OK
==========================================
After 5 minutes........ (his voice from inside)
Please come inside, I think they will be more late... let's watch something until they all arrive...

OMG!!! The whole room was decorated with heart shaped balloons, and the moment I stepped further inside, he comes in front of me kneeling on his knees, holding red rose bouquet in hand and spoke those breathtaking words "I love you, will you be mine"?
I was spell bound and while my heart shouted to its top voice for a "YES I DO"; my mouth murmured a subtle "Yes baby, yesss"...

I was anyway super surprised but it was just the beginning.... There comes my man with a heart shaped speaking toy, chocolates, nail paints and two whine glasses with green apple juice (my most favorite) decorated along with a pineapple cake (another favorite) on a tray.

The cake says "I love u".... And my heart jumped out of the rib cage to shout "I love u toooooooooo....

What a lovely morning it was, celebrating the first day of togetherness.

Ah!! WAIT... It's not yet over!!!!

We clicked few pictures and I was given a camera and asked to wait in other room... While clicking on the camera roll, my mind was constantly running out to imagine what else can be there for surprise??? Isn't it way too much already done?? I was so happy that I wanted to go out and shout with my top voice and let the world know how special I have been treated. I heard these only in movies, and today I am living one... OMG! OMG!

While I was all lost in my thoughts, he comes from behind and hold my eyes closed and takes me to THE room again...
Open your eyes dear...

Ohhh! Godddd.... This man is awesome!
A table decorated with candles and all my favorite dishes were served..... Now, this was a out of the world feeling...
But, wait..........

FISH??????????????? How did you manage to get fish in Delhi?? And above all how did you manage to cook being from a vegetarian family and never encountered fish ever in life???

My heart cried with happiness and bliss that this man took so much pain of getting the fish last night from a far away market, waking up at 6 in the morning and going to friends place just to get it cooked... All for me?? to make it special?? I am a lucky girl, seriously!!

Momos, Paratha, Shakarkand chat... what not!! All my favorites were being arranged from different places just for me? I was sooooooo deeply touched by this gesture of my man that it became tough for me to express it in words and any form of expression... I completely went numb and absolutely could not believe it was a reality not a dream or a Bollywood movie.... It took me a 2 days to come out this beautiful dream of mine....

It's been 6 years now and we both have grown a lot in our relationship... From being boyfriend-girlfriend... We have now stepped into another phase of our life to becoming husband & wife....

But, still today remembering 22nd Jan, 2009 makes me comfortably numb with happiness and makes me realize no matter what tough time we faced we sailed it through together.... And there will always remain this blissful day of ours to remind that "It's worth it baby".....

Love just happens!!

One fine morning a sweet and very talkative girl woke up early,had her tea and was thinking hard to do something fruitful for the day...Then she felt something sweet into her ears...."Do dil mil rahe hai magar chupke chupke".....Are!! mera phone kaha hai seema (Where is my phone)??? ye kab se baj raha hai par (It's been ringing since so long)....
Wo dekh bed ke niche zameen pe dikh raha hai (Look its there under the bed)....tune sote time gira di hogi pagal (you must have dropped it while asleep, mad girl).....

Wow she got something to do for the day....her friend got a very good job offer and he is coming down to treat her......Seema, mai kya pehnu (what should i wear)......Chalo, at least she is ready to go to meet her friend wearing orange suit, high heels no make up but lips looking little glossy.....
She was glad to meet him (friend) for the first time.....their she meet his two other friends, there only she meet Rohit....just a sweet hi!!!! and, whole day passed by none of them( Rohit or she
) spoke to each other, she was busy with her friend and he was busy watching movie......
In the evening all of them insisted her to have dinner together......a bit afraid because she was alone with all guys around but she decided to trust them....They seem to be genuine and good guys, after all......Dinner was so yummy......but above all Rohit was funny, his talks, his sweet smile, his nice sense of humor, got her engaged through out the evening......
You know Seema...yesterday i meet a nice cute guy, with my friend, but didn't take his no. and he also didn't asked for mine.....oh!!!!!!.......well that's life.....goes on and on.......

"A very happy friendship day"
Rohit

Oh!!! my god Seema see, I received SMS from Rohit I think....its been six months and he still remembers me, well lemme check is he the one???

Yes, I am d one u meet......

Just like any other ordinary friends they remained just friends for around two years......She went far for higher studies and he being at different place....they talked around 3 times in those years......

Then one day destiny decides to bring them face each other again.......they started meeting each other often......he gave her task to find a girl for him.....they were really into searching match for each other......wen did it happen none of them realized......but, now she LOVES him.....afraid to say and waiting for him to initiate.....but he doesn't because he wanted her to take initiative......how can a girl propose a guy.....That's not possible.....days went by....Then one day it happened .......Uff!!! mai thak chuki hoon (I am tired) now I'm gonna tell him That YES I DO.......

Oh!!!!!!!!my god he too feels the same way.......
