Ordinary to extraordinary!

A introvert, tanned, not so good looking, small town girl (No no no... absolutely not Bipasha Basu from "Bachna ae haseeno", rather a real one)!!

School life had never been exciting other than passing love letters between couple. Yes... you read it correct!! I did it all throughout my school life. I never cared about how I looked, how should I carry myself so that I look attractive. Actually, these things never mattered to me. Love, relationship, boyfriend was never my cup of tea. Or I better admit... I was way to dumb for these things.

"Boroline"... the only cream I always used thinking it looks fine as dad uses it every evening and he looks so handsome. Alas! my father never told me not to use half a tube at once, which always made me look more of a "chumpoo"...
As obvious I was never been liked as a girl of choice for any boy in my school or outside... But, I never felt bad either, why am I even thinking about it today? Well!! Its TEENAGE darling... The best time to experience those butterflies in stomach and having a shy feeling thinking about someone.

I wanted to relate to these feeling when my best friends talked about them. But, looking at mirror I always went sad because I never looked as beautiful as my friends used to. Is this my fault? No... I am born ugly, what to do...

And the story continues.....

There come a day when I was caught red handed by my papa, passing letter to one of friend's boyfriend. He thought he was my BF. He started to question us and then his parents were called too...

Noooooooooo!! this is not fare... I felt so humiliated when that guy's father said that it is not possible for his son to like such a bad looking dumb girl... I went home in a shock state, my papa was happy to learn that his daughter is a good girl (Huh!!),

But, that was my "Eureka" day! I went on thinking am I so ugly that I can't even be considered to be liked by someone's parents... Oh god! I have to do something for myself... But, WAIT!! What should I do? Coming from a family where wearing a simple lip gloss is considered a huge fashion following, who would tell me how should I change??

I made a choice that I should look beautiful and with one of my friend's help, I came to know that my skin is not dark but tanned. I started using umbrella and stopped using "my love boroline" at day time. I started going for a long walk and short jog. and started taking good care of myself. Days went by and I finished school and stepped into another phase of my life...

YES.... "Collage Life"...

Wow!! Its a fresher's day at college...

And.....

Miss Freshers goes to "MEEEEE"... Yayyyyyyyyy... Nailed it :) :)

Survival of the fittest!

Don't worry, I am not going teach you Darwin's law of evolution!!

Well!! To start with, I belong from a defence back ground, where my father and uncles worked in Indian Army. Needless to say, we were forced to travel every 2 to 3 years to be with my darling daddy.

When most of us say friends from childhood days are just assets, I'm like which one? The one from Bareily? or Merut? oh no nono, i think the Kharagpur one? and the confusion goes on and on. Due to change in dad's base location every few years, we were forced to change school and this brought in a lot of new faces to deal with, be it teachers (to build a rapport) or be it friends (to survive day-to-day life situations). I'm sure you are getting me...

All these taught me a great lesson to adjust with anyone at any point of time. This made me learn to appreciate the culture and livelihood of people around us. I have learnt a great lesson which taught me to respect people for what they are and not from where they belong.

When it comes to learning... and you are among strangers, you try to be friend with them by showing them that you know many things about their culture and society to be well accepted. This helped me learn a lot of traditions and cuisines around the world and today I have a lot of traditional tricks along with a great food diary in my kitty :)

I was blessed to meet so many people from different parts of the country living in a same locality. We celebrated all the festivals with each other. I was never taught that Pongal is only for South Indians and Holi is only for North Indians. I was taught to fit in the society of mixed culture wherever we traveled with papa.

I know, all these sounds awesome and flowery, but as written in my destiny... I met the MAN of my dreams... Wait let me finish....

From HARIYANA... See!! I told you "Survival of the fittest" God laughed at me as well!!

You wanted kick... here it is darling, all for you :D

Well!! Needless to mention I am blessed with the most loving, caring, and a man with such an amazing outlook about people and life. While I was determined to shift my story from "survival of the fittest" to "survival at its best" ... I got married!!

It's just the beginning, the beast is yet to come!!

Oh!! sorry... Did I say beast?? No no... Best is yet to come :) :)
